Mackelvie Project Collaboration with Auckland University 2024

320 Social Media , Web Design & Communications Project

Objective

The Mackelvie Collection is a vital part of New Zealand’s heritage but lacks visibility. Partnering with the Mackelvie Trust, the University students’ aim is to revitalise it by using social media and a website to engage young adults.

Outcomes

TikTok & Instagram
Short-form videos, limited-time highlights to capture immediate interest and engagement

Facebook & Instagram
Longer-form content like in-depth articles, vlogs, and static posts. Community discussions will be fostered through groups, series and interactive posts.

Website
A central hub providing information about the collection, high-quality images of artifacts, and deeper storytelling. The website will compile content from each social platform, allowing viewers to further explore and connect with the collection.

Future Pathways

We have laid a solid foundation for the Mackelvie Project, ensuring its future success. We've produced videos that will be posted in the coming weeks, which we expect to gain strong traction. This groundwork sets the stage for continued progress and success. We hope our efforts will be passed on to an intern next year, allowing the project to grow and evolve.
