Owen Jones' Grammar of Ornament and the Great Design Encyclopedias Event

Members enjoyed a close up of Owen Jones’ Grammar of Ornament book (1856) at a Mackelvie Society event held on Saturday 18th July.

Members were treated to Georgia Prince's (Principal Curator Rare Books) specialist knowledge about the history and context of some of the Mackelvie collection works, including the materials used in the making of the Owen Jone’s Grammar of Ornament.
